Nefrotech Urinary & Kidney Support
Nefrotech herbal medicine is an effective treatment of urinary tract infections, bladder stones, kidney stones, cystitis and non-specific irritations of the urethra. It has diuretic properties that flush out poisons and expel excess liquid from the body.
This formula also acts as a urinary germicide, with sterile, antiseptic properties that counteract repetitive urinary tract infections in dogs and cats. It can be used as co-therapy in kidney disease.
Nefrotec DS is a combination of herbs that provide urinary antiseptic, prevention and removal of stones in bladder or kidneys (antilithic), and diuretic (increased production of urine) properties.
Both dogs and cats can experience bladder and kidney issues, including urinary tract infections, stones, inflammation of the urethra and cystitis – which is an inflammation of the bladder. Kidney disease is more common in cats, but can also be found in dogs.
Signs of these conditions include painful urination, more frequent urination, blood or pus in the urine, or blockage of urination.
There are many causes of kidney conditions in dogs and cats, many related to diet. Excessive levels of nutrients in the diet (protein, fat, carbohydrates), excessive levels of mineral, or chemical food preservatives, colourings, additives and acidifiers can all be linked to kidney disfunction.
A sedentary life from obesity, holding onto urine for long periods, and even genetics (some breeds are more prone than others), can be contributing factors.
Nefrotec is effective at preventing and dissolving stones and sediment in the bladder and kidneys.
For both male cats and dogs, stones or ‘sand’ in the bladder can become critical, blocking the urethra and preventing urination. In this case, contact your Vet immediately and always ensure proper diagnosis and suitability.

Key Ingredients
The leaves of Shilapushpa (Didymocarpus pedicellata) contain an essential oil whose chief constituent, didymocarpene, supports the urinary tract.
The rhizome of Pasanabheda (Saxifraga Ligulata) contains the active principal, bergenin, which supports the body’s natural ability to maintain normal crystalloid and colloid balance. This is important for maintaining normal urine flow.

Executive Summary: Evaluation of Nefrotec Tablets in Urinary Tract Infections in Canines
A study of 30 dogs found that Nefrotec tablets improved the canine urinary tract infections either alone or in combination with antibiotics without any adverse reactions. OF the 30, 10 were treated with Nefrotec for 3-4 weeks, 10 cases with antibiotic, and the remaining 10 with a combination of Nefrotec and antibiotic. Response to therapy was assessed on repeat urine culture (5-7 days and 30-45 days following treatment).
Treatment with Nefrotec alone required 3-4 weeks for recovery. For the combined Nefrotec/antibiotic treatment, recovery was seen in 12-15 days. Urine culture examination on these two groups showed no relapse. In the antibiotic-only group, while recovery was seen in 12-15 days, relapse was recorded in 2 dogs after 10 days following treatment, confirmed by repeat urine examination.
